Are business leaders in your company saving a seat at the decision-making table for HR professionals? Or, is the HR team the group that leaders would prefer to start the meeting without? Regardless of what the perceptions of the HR team are today, HR professionals can change that and learn to become trusted advisors who business leaders will not start their meetings without.
This session is based on the book, From Gatekeeper to Trusted Advisor, which is a new book written for HR professionals or any business leader with an HR team. During this session, participants will get an overview of examples from inside companies, both large and small, in a wide variety of industries, and learn how HR professionals can stop being perceived as roadblocks or gatekeepers and, instead, be respected and trusted advisors who business leaders seek out for advice and counsel. Participants will learn the six 6 principles of the unique Bridge Model which contains the practical behaviors and practices required for HR professionals to be trusted internal advisors in their organizations and to the clients they support.
The six Bridge principles that will be presented are:
BUILD YOUR BASE
RESPOND RESPONSIBLY
INFLUENCE IMPECCABLY
DISTINGUISH YOURSELF
GET OUT OF THE WAY
ENCOURAGE EXPECTATIONS
Participants will get an overview of each principle as well as practice a useful application related to each principle so they walk away with knowledge and understanding of what it means and what it takes to be true trusted HR advisors.
This is a very interactive session where participants get to explore real examples (and share their own) of what it takes to be trusted HR advisors in today's high stress, fast paced work environment. With all that HR professionals are continually being asked to take on, it is easy to lose sight of some of the most practical behaviors that we all should be known for; this session helps to refocus us and remind us what is truly important.
